Five programmes. One goal: resilient communities.
From classroom libraries to community adaptation plans, our programmes are designed with the people they serve — practical, measurable and built to last.
Our programmes
Designed with communities. Measured by real change.
Our five programmes work together: learners gain knowledge in school, young people turn it into leadership, communities apply it to prepare for climate shocks, and we carry the lessons to the institutions that shape policy.

Climate Literacy & Green Schools
Children who understand climate change grow into adults who act on it. We make climate science practical, local and fun for primary and junior high school learners.
What we do
- Set up reading corners built by local artisans and stocked with storybooks, dictionaries and climate titles.
- Distribute learning kits — pens, pencils, sharpeners and exercise books — so no learner misses a lesson.
- Run interactive climate lessons on weather, water, waste and energy, linked to the national curriculum.
- Support eco-clubs that lead school clean-ups, recycling and tree-care rotas.
Youth Climate Leadership
More than 60% of Africa's population is under 25. Our Youth Climate Ambassadors programme gives young people the knowledge, confidence and networks to lead climate action where they live.
Ambassador training
Six-week course on climate science, project design, public speaking and community facilitation.
Youth climate dialogues
Open forums where young people, elders and officials discuss local climate priorities.
Micro-projects
Ambassadors design and lead small community projects with mentoring from our team.
Peer mentoring
Graduates mentor the next cohort, building a self-sustaining network.

Community Resilience & Adaptation
Heatwaves, dry spells and floods hit the most vulnerable first — especially children. We help households, schools and children's homes prepare for climate shocks and recover faster when they happen.

Our activities
- Community risk mapping and simple preparedness plans
- Heat-safety and safe-water sessions for children and caregivers
- Emergency supplies for children's institutions after climate shocks
- Climate-smart farming tips shared with farming households
Nature-Based Solutions
Trees cool classrooms, hold soil in place during heavy rains, provide fruit and shade, and store carbon. We help schools and communities restore nature in ways that bring everyday benefits.
Every planting is matched with a care plan — because a tree that survives five years does far more good than ten that do not survive one.
School tree nurseries
Eco-clubs raise native and fruit-tree seedlings for school grounds and families.
Community greening
Shade trees around schools, clinics and public spaces to reduce heat stress.
Soil & land care
Composting, mulching and agroforestry demonstrations for farming households.
Coastal awareness
Learning sessions on mangroves and coastal ecosystems that protect shorelines.

Policy, Advocacy & Partnerships
Local action grows stronger when institutions listen. We build relationships with public bodies, schools, traditional authorities and civil society so that community climate priorities shape real decisions.
Institutional engagement
Working with public institutions to explore greening of institutional land, waste management and environmental skills training.
Community voice briefs
Short, evidence-based briefs that summarise what communities tell us about climate impacts and needs.
Networks & coalitions
Collaborating with civil society and youth networks across West Africa to share learning and amplify local voices.
Global South coalition
Interregional Pact for Sovereignty through Solutions
Standing with partners from Africa, Latin America and South Asia for locally owned climate solutions — most recently at the AfDB Annual Meetings 2026 in Brazzaville.
