What is C4D?
The Canadian Coalition on Climate Change and Development (C4D) is a coalition of international development and environmental organizations working together to share knowledge and take concerted action to combat climate change. C4D was created in 2006.
What are the objectives of C4D?
This coalition brings together objectives which are, among other things, :
-Strengthen the capacity of the international development community to address the challenges posed by climate change for sustainable development.
-Make the voice of the international development community heard in the debate on Canada's response to climate change. Through dialogue with elected officials and civil servants, as well as occasional public awareness activities. C4D promotes government policies that help developing countries adapt to climate change, support sustainable energy in development, and integrate climate change into development programs. But also which considerably reduce national greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond these objectives, C4D also proposes initiatives. These include workshops including government, researchers and civil society, Reports and guidance notes and Letters and submissions to different governments.
